| James E. Wallace, Jr.Partner - Practice Area Leader for Higher Education |
Mr. Wallace advises employers in all facets of employment, from hiring to termination, with a particular emphasis on discrimination law. He defends employers in court and agency proceedings, especially those involving discrimination, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, covenants not to compete and sexual harassment. Mr. Wallace advises institutions of higher learning in employment of faculty (tenure, hiring, promotion), student affairs (disability, discipline, FERPA, academics), contract and governance matters. In labor law matters, Mr. Wallace handles grievances, arbitrations and unfair labor practice charges. He is a frequent speaker on employment and discrimination law and has taught courses in the field for legal organizations, chambers of commerce, employer groups, and national educational programs. |
