Joshua Lee Smith Quoted in Worcester Telegram’s “Worcester board OKs Suns Mass II pot shop on Millbrook Street”
An Arizona-based cannabis company has received a license from Worcester’s License Commission to operate a retail adult-use marijuana store, the sixth one the License Commission has granted out of 15 it will permit.
The store, which will be located at 56 Millbrook Street, should open within 9 to 12 months.
Says Joshua Lee Smith in the article:
According to Mr. Smith, the business will be located in a two-story, 6,300-square-foot building that has operated as an automotive repair and auto body garage for more than 60 years.
He said his client has reached an agreement with the owner to purchase the property. He added that the business there will be closing later this month.
Mr. Smith said the plans are to make improvements to the interior and exterior of the building, including enhancing its exterior facade and landscaping. He added that the building’s footprint will remain the same.
There will be parking onsite for 23 vehicles, which is five more than what is required under the city’s zoning ordinance.
Mr. Smith said the property is in an area that has a mix of office, retail and industrial uses. He added that the proposed new use will be compatible with that neighborhood.
