Sandra O’Neill quoted in the Worcester Business Journal’s “New Worcester Plaza owner planning more investment in the city”

On January 30, 2020, the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a presentation on Opportunity Zones, which are designated economically-distressed districts where new investments may be eligible for preferential tax treatment. The panel included Roberta Brien of the Worcester Business Development Corporation, Richard James of Bank of America, James Umphrey of Kelleher & Sadowsky, Sandra O’Neill from Bowditch, Karen Kelleher from LISC, and Daniel Ryan from Sullivan & Worcester. When a fellow panel member states that investors are using the Opportunity Zone tax benefits for projects or purchases they would have made without it, Bowditch’s Sandra O’Neill “agreed it is a boon to the investment community. She said very little is required of the investors other than completing two Internal Revenue Service forms.”
