Katherine Garrahan quoted in The Milford Daily News’ “Coronavirus outbreak slows typically robust spring real estate market”

Spring used to be a budding time for the real estate market.  However, COVID-19 has changed this.  The market is slower, and fewer houses are being listed.  In addition, the way in which business is being conducted has adapted to better suit social distancing practices.  Katherine Garrahan spoke with The Milford Daily News on this matter.

“This is needed to safely assist with signing original documents before witnesses and notaries, with the use of virtual technology, such as FaceTime on the phone or Zoom or Team Meetings on the computer,” said Garrahan. “It would expand the meaning of in the presence of a witness and notary, which has always meant in the physical presence to also include in the virtual presence during the COVID-19 emergency. This version does not include the use of an electronic signature, such as DocuSign which was in prior discussions.”
