Mark Borenstein Quoted in Worcester Telegram’s “Planning Board approves WuXi Biologics’ scaled up plans for Reactory plant on Belmont Street”

The Worcester Planning Board unanimously voted to approve WuXi Biologic’s plans for a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.  The company’s amended site plan calls for a four-story building in place of the original plan’s two-story building with a mezzanine.  The Worcester Telegram spoke with Mark Borenstein about the project.

Borenstein said the building will generally occupy the same footprint in the current plan, adding only 5,000 square feet of impervious surface to the original 107,000 square-foot scope. He said an October storm last year exposed weaknesses in the site’s storm water management system, and told the board the system has since been upgraded.
