Michael Angelini Named Chair of Worcester Redevelopment Authority
Bowditch & Dewey Chairman, Michael Angelini, has been named the Chair of the Worcester Redevelopment Authority (WRA). A member of the WRA since 2016, Michael’s passion for Worcester, his leadership in the community and his extensive experience serving on the WRA were cited as qualifiers for his appointment.
The WRA is responsible for the city’s urban renewal planning, land acquisition, business relocation and demolition of obsolete structures, as well as site-testing preparation and public improvements. In an interview with the Worcester Telegram, Angelini discussed the WRA stating, “It’s been an important part of change and progress in Worcester and the rebirth of Worcester downtown. I’m committed to its mission, which is how do we make Worcester a better place to live for as broad a group of people as possible.”
Angelini will chair his first meeting later this month and says he looks forward to shaping discussions and granting consent to the WRA staff as they work toward promoting Worcester’s growth.
