Earlier this year, Taylor made big news when she announced that she finally owned her entire catalog of music, including her master recordings, music videos, concert films, album art and photography, and unreleased songs. She will undoubtedly want to protect all of that and ensure that these assets remain her separate property in the event of a divorce and in the event of her death, such that her estate plan can control and direct posthumous ownership.<\/p>\n
While Travis has his NFL contract and endorsement deals, among other things, that he\u2019ll certainly also want to protect, the prenuptial agreement can be utilized to address the question of how to divide assets and income they acquire, separately or together, during the course of the marriage. This is particularly important given the star power of their relationship and the potential that they will engage in joint ventures \u2013 perhaps a spin-off of Travis\u2019 \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast?<\/p>\n
It also can\u2019t be ignored that Travis\u2019 career is in a sport that sometimes comes with great risk of injury and that, even at the age of 35, he may be closer to retirement than she is. Taylor will likely want to utilize the prenup to prevent a scenario where she becomes obligated to pay alimony or spousal support simply because her income continues to skyrocket.<\/p>\n
While we may never know if they sign a prenup or what its terms are, given the likelihood that such a clause would be unenforceable, safe to say it will not likely include a never ever getting back together clause.<\/p>\n
