Bob Cox Featured in Worcester Telegram’s “Bowditch and Dewey lawyer Bob Cox addresses legal issues of PFAS contamination”
Elevated levels of PFAS have been found in around 50 Massachusetts communities’ public water systems, making it a growing concern in the state. These new concerns have brought up many legal questions such as, who is responsible for the cleanup. The Worcester Telegram spoke with Bob Cox to answer these questions and bring some clarity to the situation.
The law essentially says if you own the contaminant, then you’re responsible for cleaning it up. In some cases, the PFAS source is clear, like a manufacturing facility or a training ground for firefighters that uses firefighting foams containing PFAS.
