Boston, Framingham and Worcester, MA<\/strong> \u2014Jan. 2, 2024<\/strong>\u2014 Robert D. Cox, Jr., an attorney at Bowditch & Dewey, has been named a Go To Environmental Lawyer by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Cox, Bowditch\u2019s immediate past managing partner, has more than 35 years of experience helping clients with complex, technically challenging environmental compliance and enforcement actions throughout Massachusetts. He counsels primarily businesses, public utilities, and municipal authorities on matters before the EPA and the MassDEP. He also advises clients on NPDES permitting, brownfield development activities, and risks associated with emerging contaminants. This past summer, Cox took on a new role as Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor of Law at Suffolk University Law School. In this role, Cox designed and launched, and is now directing Suffolk Law\u2019s new Environmental Law and Policy Clinic, Suffolk Law\u2019s 13th in-house clinic.<\/p>\n

Cox is past chair of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce as well as the Environmental Business Council of New England. He is a fellow in the American College of Environmental Lawyers. He was named one of Business Today\u2019s<\/em> Top 10 Powerhouse Lawyers Shaping Massachusetts\u2019 Future in 2023 and has been recognized as one of the top environmental lawyers in Massachusetts by Chambers USA<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Admitted not only to the state bar but also to the U.S. Supreme Court and the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals bars, Cox is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts.<\/p>\n
