Bowditch has an opening for an Associate Trust Officer in the Trust Department of its Estate, Financial & Tax Planning Practice Area. This position is based in the Firm’s Worcester office.
This individual will be working with two very experienced Trust Officers assisting with the daily administration and management of trust and estate accounts:
- Using SunGard trust accounting software;
- Marshalling of assets;
- Trust and estate distributions;
- Preparation of fiduciary accountings;
- Compilation of information for preparation of federal and state estate tax, gift tax, fiduciary income tax and personal income tax returns.
- Responsibilities include investment administration but not portfolio management.
Because this individual will have ongoing responsibility for maintaining relationships with trustees, clients, beneficiaries, investment advisors, accountants, and other professionals, superior written and oral communication skills are required.
The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree; the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor designation and/or a law degree is preferable. Business development is not an integral aspect of the position.
