Financial Advisor, Service Assistant

We are seeking a full time (non-exempt) Financial Advisor, Service Assistant to join our Estate, Financial and Tax Planning practice area. This role will fall under our B&D Advisors entity. In this position, you will be directly interfacing with our clients as well as providing support to our senior advisors. A securities series 7 and 66 license are required for this role. This hybrid position (4 in-office and 1 remote day weekly) is based in our Worcester office and will report to the Branch Manager.

Job Summary

This licensed representative delivers high quality service to existing and new clients by providing operational support to the senior advisors regarding investment strategies, securities and insurance.


  • Explain the role and responsibilities of a personal financial advisor and the services provided to clients
  • Gather financial information from clients if not already provided
  • Analyze clients’ financial information to determine strategies for meeting clients’ financial objectives.
  • Research available investment opportunities to determine compatibility with clients’ financial plans
  • Works with senior advisors to identify appropriate products for clients
  • Implement agreed upon financial planning recommendations
  • Review clients’ portfolios regularly to determine whether life, economic, environmental changes or financial performance signify a need for plan adjustments
  • Prepare and interpret to the clients such things as investment performance reports, financial document summaries and income projections
  • Monitor the financial market trends
  • Contact clients inviting them to meet with senior advisors to determine if there are any changes in their financial status and review the performance of their investments
  • Respond to clients’ questions regarding their financial investments
  • Attend meetings with clients, advisors, and money managers
  • Disburse funds from clients’ accounts to the client
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in performing administrative tasks
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations that apply to this type of work
  • Knowledge of accounting, analytical, compliance, document management and customer relationship management software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency using the internet
  • Ability to learn different software in a reasonable timeframe
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the financial markets
  • Knowledge of mathematics

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, business management or related field
  • At least five years related experience
  • Securities series 7 and 66 license
  • Successful score on insurance licensing exam
