The Massachusetts State legislature did not vote on the Bill before its winter recess in 2015. However, Senate President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/metro\/2015\/06\/25\/rosenberg-urges-support-for-transgenered-rights-bill\/WTXL5mcAxoofUOY5LEBbjJ\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stanley Rosenburg<\/a>\u00a0and House Speaker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masslive.com\/politics\/index.ssf\/2015\/11\/house_speaker_robert_deleo_sup.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Robert DeLeo<\/a> have each given their support for the legislation. Speaker DeLeo indicated that &#8220;I still think we&#8217;ve got some homework that has to be done, and members have some questions that have to be answered before I think that they feel comfortable moving ahead,&#8221; while President Rosenburg indicated that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freedommassachusetts.org\/senatesupport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Senate stands ready to vote on the Bill<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Bill has gained significant momentum and boasts an impressive cast of supporters, including more than 170 businesses, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, many colleges and universities, and several prominent municipal leaders, including Boston Mayor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freedommassachusetts.org\/Mayors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Martin J. Walsh<\/a>. Massachusetts&#8217; all-Democratic congressional delegation has also come out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masslive.com\/politics\/index.ssf\/2015\/11\/massachusetts_congressmen_urge.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unanimously in favor of the Bill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Legislative session <a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">resumes today<\/a>\u00a0and the current session runs until July of 2016. Supporters of the Bill are working to make sure that this legislation is a top priority for the Massachusetts Legislature and are applying pressure to the Joint Committee on the Judiciary to take a vote as quickly as possible.
