Worcester Business Journal Features Samantha McDonald and Her Commercial Real Estate Practice

Samantha McDonald and her commercial real estate practice were featured in the Worcester Business Journal’s Focus on Women in Leadership. The article “Samantha McDonald found a niche in commercial real estate and encourages other women to do the same” highlights Samantha’s non-traditional career path to partner at Bowditch, the type of work she handles for the firm and why she thinks more women should enter the field of commercial real estate.

Among Samantha’s notable real estate projects is the sale of the former Saint Peter-Marian High School site to Worcester nonprofit Goddard/Homestead in January, which will be redeveloped into senior living. And, for the first time this year, Samantha is working on a development where the lawyer, the broker, and the client are all women.

Operating in the still male-dominated field of commercial real estate, Samantha encourages more women to join her, particularly from the residential real estate side of the industry. Speaking with the Worcester Business Journal about the interpersonal skills that help make a residential agent successful, she said:

“If they can succeed in dealing with houses, there’s no real reason not to,” she said. “Those skills transfer really well.”
