Mary Bonauto to Argue Marriage Cases Before SCOTUS
Mary Bonauto will argue DeBoer v. Snyder, a Michigan case, and Love v. Beshear, a Kentucky case, before the U.S. Supreme Court. Bonauto currently serves as GLAD’s Civil Rights Project Director. She argued Goodrich v. DPH before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, which resulted in the legalization of same sex marriage in Massachusetts. Bonauto also played a role in the Windsor v. U.S. case that struck down portions of the Defense of Marriage Act.
