The New England Board of Higher Education has published an article by AiVi Nguyen and Tony Dragga in in its publication, The New England Journal of Higher Education, discussing free speech on college campuses.  Although colleges and universities maintain the right to limit campus free speech in contexts such as student protests, such action may foster negative publicity or damage their educational environments. Institutions should set forth guidelines, establish decision-making teams and adopt a coordinated approach to events on campus in order to strike a balance between safety, student discourse and maintaining a favorable public image.
