Jennifer Irvine Joins Worcester Center for Crafts Board of Directors

In May, Jennifer Irvine, Bowditch’s Director of Marketing & Business Development, joined the Board of Directors for the Worcester Center for Crafts (WCC),  a community of creatives and makers dedicated to the promotion, appreciation and teaching of craft. She will serve a three-year term.

WCC is among the oldest regional craft institutions in the country and offers hands-on instruction in ceramics, glass, jewelry, forging, bladesmithing and blacksmithing, enameling and both digital and darkroom photography. Originally established in 1856 as a place of economic empowerment through craft by teaching necessary skills primarily to immigrant women, today the WCC is celebrating 10 years of partnership with Worcester State University. WSU’s Visual and Performing Arts classes in art and music meet in the WCC studios. In addition, artists and students throughout New England rely on WCC for craft education and support of entrepreneurship in the arts.

It is an exciting time to be involved with WCC, as the organization recently appointed Elaine McKenna-Yeaw as the new Executive Director.
