Overview

Samuel Sichko is a nationally-recognized lawyer with more than 25 years of experience serving high-net-worth individuals and families with estate planning, estate administration, probate and tax litigation and family office needs. Sam regularly acts as counsel and trustee to clients throughout New England and the U.S., overseeing both public and private investments, including investments with various private equity funds, hedge funds and other alternative investment entities.

Clients – including multi-generation families – often turn to Sam for help in the formation and operation of tax-exempt organizations. “In addition to serving as trustee for clients,” Sam notes, “I regularly have a fiduciary role in various entities that my clients establish.” He adds that many of his clients have first-generation wealth as a result of starting businesses as entrepreneurs. “I’m now dealing with planning and managing more transitions.”

In addition to providing planning and counsel, Sam regularly helps when his clients face disputes or claims. He represents clients before the U.S. Tax Court, the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board, various courts throughout Massachusetts and in administrative proceedings with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and the Internal Revenue Service.

Whether in a planning and counseling role or in resolving a complex claim, clients appreciate Sam’s accessibility, responsiveness and rational, reasonable, first-hand approach to challenges and opportunities. “I’m in constant contact with clients,” Sam explains. “I have been lucky enough to work with truly remarkable families and individuals.”

Sam has been a frequent lecturer on tax and estate planning topics for attorneys, accountants and other professionals.
