The impact of climate change, from rising sea levels and shifting weather patterns, is global in scope and one of the biggest challenges we face. In the Worcester Business Journal article “10 things I know about … Sustainable development, part 1” Samantha McDonald discusses Worcester’s goal to become the nation’s greenest midsize city, why cars are not our biggest problem and the benefits of recent building code changes that reduce the dependence on fossil fuels. Below is an excerpt from the article:

4) Green buildings do a lot more than improve the environment. These buildings offer significant health benefits, reducing indoor air pollution and noisy acoustics. Asthma rates drop in green buildings.
