Press Release: Korrin Petersen Joins Bowditch’s Real Estate and Environmental Law Practice
Boston, Framingham, Plymouth, and Worcester, MA – September 15, 2025 – Korrin Petersen, an environmental attorney with over two decades of experience in Massachusetts, has joined Bowditch & Dewey’s real estate and environmental law practice.
Petersen brings a unique blend of legal, technical, and scientific knowledge to the Bowditch team. She has previously advised both public and private entities on the planning, permitting, and implementation of wastewater infrastructure projects. Her experience includes managing federal grants, leading feasibility studies, and advocating for innovative, science-based solutions to meet state and federal water quality standards.
“We are delighted to welcome Korrin to our team,” said Paul C. Bauer, Bowditch’s practice area leader for real estate, finance and corporate. “Her extensive knowledge of federal and state water law, policy development, and infrastructure planning and litigation will greatly benefit our clients and practice.”
As lead in-house counsel at a Buzzards Bay-focused environmental nonprofit, Petersen has litigated landmark federal Clean Water Act cases and successfully defended state authority under the Massachusetts Oil Spill Prevention and Response Act. She has also challenged inadequate discharge permits, supported wetlands appeals, and helped shape local and state regulations aimed at reducing pollution from on-site septic systems.
Before joining Bowditch & Dewey, Petersen served as the Vice President of Clean Water Advocacy at the Buzzards Bay Coalition, Inc., where she led all aspects of the organization’s advocacy efforts. Earlier in her career, she was counsel for the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources, and Agriculture. She received her B.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and her J.D. from Vermont Law School.
“I’m excited to join Bowditch’s highly respected real estate and environmental law team and continue working on the complex water and environmental issues that I’m deeply passionate about,” she said. “This opportunity allows me to collaborate with a talented team of attorneys while helping clients navigate evolving environmental regulations.”
Petersen will be working closely with Robert D. Cox, who is recognized as a leading environmental lawyer in Massachusetts by Chambers USA. “I have followed Korrin’s career for a long time, and she has consistently impressed me with her deep knowledge, skilled analysis, and advocacy. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team.”
