Laura Raisty Shares Five Key Considerations for Massachusetts Employers Using AI in Hiring

Artificial intelligence is transforming the hiring process, with employers increasingly relying on tools such as automated resume screening, chatbots, and video interview technology to improve efficiency. While these technologies offer significant benefits, they also come with legal risks, particularly as federal and state regulators continue to focus on fairness, discrimination and the responsible use of AI in employment decisions.

In a recent article in the Worcester Business Journal, Laura Raisty examines the evolving legal landscape surrounding AI-assisted hiring in Massachusetts and outlines five steps employers can take to evaluate their use of AI throughout the hiring process. Here is an excerpt:

Work with your vendors. If you are using third-party AI tools, ask vendors how they test their systems for bias and whether they conduct regular audits. Make sure you are comfortable with the safeguards in place.
