Bowditch & Dewey’s Litigation Practice is the largest division at the firm, with over 20 litigators. We represent clients in numerous industries across the region—including public utilities, energy, manufacturing, distributors, real estate development, education and financial services—in connection with complex disputes involving employment, insurance, real estate, environmental, construction, bankruptcy, intellectual property and commercial/contracts, as well as other compliance and business-related matters.
We believe that our clients are best served through practical lawyering methods that reflect the client value and impact of potential legal actions and litigation options. We are experienced in alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation and arbitration. There are times, however, when litigation is necessary to protect or defend our clients’ interests. We litigate cases in state and federal courts, including appeals to appellate courts. We also represent clients in administrative hearings.
We work closely with our clients to control the costs and disruption caused by litigation. Together, our clients and we develop a plan and budget for each engagement that takes full advantage of all the internal capabilities and efficiencies our firm offers. We have the depth and experience to handle the most complex disputes, including those involving a large volume of documents.
