Press Release: George W. Tetler III, Bowditch & Dewey, Honored Among Top 20 Massachusetts Go To Lawyers

Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Highlights Mr. Tetler’s Success in Advancing Corporate Clients’ Growth

Worcester, Boston and Framingham, MA—January 4, 2021—Attorney George W. Tetler III, Partner, Bowditch & Dewey, has been named to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s inaugural list of top 20 Massachusetts Go To Lawyers for Business Law.

The publication recognizes the Worcester and Boston attorney as the expert sought out by financial institutions, investors, boards of directors, business owners and nonprofit organizations throughout New England for help with mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, capital investments, restructurings and business planning matters.

“We cannot be more proud to call George Tetler our colleague. He consistently draws on his four decades of experience, and a practical, common-sense outlook, to help businesses overcome complex problems and reach new levels of growth,” said Attorney Paul C. Bauer, Partner and Practice Area Leader, Real Estate, Finance and Corporate, Bowditch.

Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly cites several results of his work—from a $20 million transformation of a dirt lot into a four-story, mixed-use building in Worcester, to the acquisition of 40 retail stores involving $110 million in assets, despite a tight timeframe and environmental issues.

Mr. Tetler is a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, and Chair of the Commission of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the first non-academic to hold the position in several decades.

His numerous leadership roles include Director and Former Chair, Worcester Business Development Corporation; Treasurer and Director, Worcester Regional Research Bureau, Inc.; Director, Worcester State Foundation, Inc.; Trustee, Nativity School of Worcester; Director, Worcester Education Collaborative; Trustee, Worcester Art Museum; Secretary and Councilor, American Antiquarian Society; Former Chair, Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, Worcester State University and United Way of Central Massachusetts; and Fellow and Life Member, Worcester County Bar Foundation.

Mr. Tetler earned his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law, and a B.A. from Denison University.
