Christopher Condon Discusses Gardener’s Supply Company Bankruptcy Filing

Christopher Condon was interviewed by WCAX Channel 3 in Vermont on June 23, 2025, regarding the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of Gardener’s Supply Company. The Vermont-based, employee-owned company operates four retail locations in Vermont and New Hampshire, along with a shipping and online business.

Speaking with the news station, Chris said that after declining sales and money being taken out due to the employee stock option, Gardener’s Supply Company is in search of a buyer. He explained that the company appears to be pursuing a going-concern sale rather than liquidation.

“Presumably, the purchaser is buying it to expand its operational base. So, it’s not a liquidation sale; it’s what’s called a going-concern sale. So, they are buying an as-is operation.”

At Bowditch, Chris focuses his legal practice on bankruptcy, restructuring, and related litigation, bringing more than 20 years of experience to the field. He also teaches in these areas as an adjunct professor at Vermont Law and Graduate School.
