Bowditch Attorneys Presented Webinar on Nonprofit-Provided Employee Housing Programs
Nonprofit organizations are increasingly developing employee housing programs as a strategic response to the growing affordability crisis. Without access to stable and affordable housing options, nonprofits encounter challenges in recruiting and retaining qualified personnel, particularly frontline workers, seasonal employees, and staff in lower-wage positions who are priced out of local housing markets.
Katherine Garrahan, Peter Martin, Samantha McDonald and Raymond Ripple spoke at the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network’s October 2, 2025, webinar “Nonprofit-Provided Employee Housing: Can Nonprofits Build the New Company Towns?” Attendees gained an understanding of common approaches to nonprofit-provided housing and left with a basic roadmap for designing, implementing, and managing successful employee housing programs that strengthen workforce stability while maintaining legal compliance.
