Press Release: Bowditch Partner Named “Go To Lawyer” for Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly
Boston and Worcester, MA – October 27, 2026 – Bowditch Partner Christopher Kenney was recently named a “Go To Lawyer” in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Mediation by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
The award recognizes the top senior attorneys across Massachusetts who are leaders in this practice area. Nominees must be experts in case law, have a demonstrated record of success, think creatively to resolve disputes outside the courtroom, and frequently receive peer referrals.
“Congratulations to Chris on this well-deserved recognition by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly,” said Michael Sams, Litigation Practice Area Co-Leader at Bowditch. “He is a nationally recognized and respected litigator, trial advocate, and mediator, with a long track record of success to prove it. Chris’s depth of knowledge and dedication to his practice area are true assets to his clients, the Bowditch team, and everyone who mediates with him!”
Kenney joined Bowditch in January of this year when the firm merged with Kenney & Sams, another leading Northeast law firm, solidifying its presence in Central Massachusetts, MetroWest, and Boston. Kenney co-founded Kenney & Sams in 2006 and specializes in trial law, litigation, and civil mediation services.
At Bowditch, Kenney continues his litigation practice as a litigator and trial advocate, having successfully tried cases before state and federal courts in several states. His practice focuses on advising companies, organizations, and individuals on contracts and agreements, corporate or shareholder disputes, construction and development, employment law, and product integrity and safety.
He serves a diverse portfolio of local and national clients ranging from real estate and construction to healthcare and pharmaceuticals. Kenney also represents public officials on election law and public policy.
“I appreciate this recognition of my work and reputation in the field of ADR and mediation, the extraordinary team at Bowditch, and the trust our clients place in us to handle critical matters,” said Kenney. “I am grateful to my colleagues and mentors who have helped me get to where I am today.”
In 1999, the Massachusetts Attorney General appointed Kenney to a six-year term as a Special Assistant Attorney General representing the Commonwealth in construction defect claims, constitutional law, and eminent domain matters. He has served on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) and the Defense Research Foundation (DRI), as well as the State Advisory Council for the New England Legal Foundation (NELF).
He also formerly served as the President of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association (Massachusetts chapter), and was the Director of the IADC Trial Academy. He currently serves as Vice President of the American Board of Trial Advocates (MA Chapter).
His distinguished honors from Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly include being named “Massachusetts Lawyer of the Year” (2020), a Legal Luminary (2025), and an inductee into its prestigious Hall of Fame (2026).
