Mark Borenstein Quoted in “Buy the bottle: a request to change city’s liquor law in bars” in The Worcester Guardian

Patrons of Worcester establishments that have a liquor license can buy a bottle of beer or a bottle of wine but cannot purchase a bottle of hard alcohol to consume on the premises. Known as bottle service, this has been against the Worcester License Commission’s rules for many years. Mark Borenstein is asking the commission to consider allowing bottle service in the city’s bars and restaurants. He spoke with The Worcester Guardian about the request:

“Boston allows it with prior approval,” Mark said, adding that commissioners could set rules including how many patrons must be sharing the bottle and having a server designated to pour the drinks and monitor consumption.
