Press Release: Bowditch Honored with Third Empowering Women Award

Boston, Plymouth, Framingham and Worcester, MA — August 1, 2025 — Bowditch has been named to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Empowering Women list for the third year in a row, citing the firm’s strong commitment to supporting and elevating female attorneys.

In the firm’s 111-year legacy, Bowditch female attorneys now make up 58% of all attorneys. This gender equity milestone reflects fundamental shifts in our legal leadership, as women hold 44% of equity partnerships and comprise three of the four-member business leadership team.

Bowditch supports flexible schedules and has had several of its attorneys take advantage of reduced hours and its hybrid work environment. Not only can attorneys work in the office just three days a week, but they also can work remotely for two full weeks a year.

A key component to achieving this success is the firm’s internal women’s initiative program, which brings together female attorneys to prioritize business development and networking opportunities. The group’s flagship event, Bowditch Birdies, now in its fourth year, has revolutionized how women approach golf course networking in historically male-dominated spaces. We also invest in training programs, executive coaching, women-focused book clubs, a speaker series,  and partner with the Association of Corporate Counsel-Northeast’s Women’s Initiative.
