We are seeking an experienced paralegal for our Real Estate and Environmental Practice Area. The paralegal assists and supports the attorneys in the practice in all aspects of their matters. This is an opportunity to join a collegial and collaborative team. The role may be based in either our Southborough or Worcester office. The role offers a hybrid schedule of 4 days in office and 1 remote day per week and is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.
The successful candidate will have solid experience as a paralegal in commercial real estate areas as defined below.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of draft documents, including purchase and sale agreements, deeds, settlement statements, commercial leases and related documents
- Obtaining closing documents, including UCC searches, title examinations, municipal lien certificates, corporate organizational documents and payoff letters
- Preparation of tenant estoppel certificates and clerk’s certificates
- Attendance at closings
- Coordination of title reports with title examiners
- Preparation of lender and owner policies of title insurance
- Preparation of organizational and authority documentation
- Coordination of recording of documents at registries of deeds
- Assistance in preparation of zoning opinions
- Management of transactional due diligence, including review of files at state and municipal offices and responsibility for completion of all post-closing matters
- Presentation skills for in-house training of other paralegals
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a paralegal in a Commercial Real Estate Law Group or similar environment
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong proof-reading skills
- Time management and multitasking abilities
- Strong research and writing abilities
- Solid technology skills and the ability to learn new programs and systems
- A professional attitude and approach to client service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision and also work as part of a larger team
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Paralegal Certification preferred

- The anticipated pay range for this role is an hourly rate of $34.00 – $44.00 and represents a reasonable estimate of the starting salary range. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related factors including experience, geographic location, external market data and our internal market.
