Matthew D. Ray

Matthew Ray is a member of the firm’s Business and Finance and Commercial Real Estate practice areas. Matt represents both financial institutions and commercial borrowers in the structuring, negotiation and documentation of middle-market C&I, asset-based and commercial real estate credit facilities.

In addition to his lending practice, Matt has a general commercial real estate practice representing sponsors and developers in connection with acquisitions, dispositions and development of commercial properties as well as the representation of both landlords and tenants in the negotiation and drafting of lease agreements pertaining to all types of commercial properties including office, flex, retail, restaurant and warehouse space.

Matt also serves as outside general counsel to several small and medium sized privately held businesses where he advises his clients on all aspects of general corporate law transactions, including entity formation and governance matters, as well as asset and equity sales and acquisitions.

Besides work

Matt is an avid hockey player and can often be found at a rink playing hockey or coaching his son’s hockey team. Additionally, Matt enjoys strength training and working on his golf game and is an active follower of the local Boston sports teams. In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons and being active in the community. During the nice weather Matt is typically with his family at their local beach or on their boat or taking the family dog, Maggie, for her daily walk.
